| Description: | Opening Session "The AVMA Show" Friday, August 3, 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm Joan Embery is nationally known for her television appearances with animals and as the spokesperson for the world famous Zoological Society of San Diego for over 30 years, Joan has raised awareness of animals and wildlife conservation through her books and tours. She has handled everything from Aardvarks to Zebras and enjoys sharing her animal ambassadors live onstage. Join us at Opening session as she shares her experiences and infatuation with wildlife through personal accounts and anecdotes. Emceeing this event will be Jay Thomas. Jay has starred in numerous TV movies, is a two time Emmy Award winner for his role as Jerry Gold on "Murphy Brown" and is equally well known as Eddie Lebec from "Cheers." On film, he has played opposite Richard Dreyfus in "Mr. Holland's Opus," alongside Greg Kinnear in "A Smile Like Yours," and Tim Allen in "Santa Claus Two and Three." |
