Animals Behaving Badly - Veterinary / Welfare Perspectives

Category: Miscellaneous
Description:

A symposium on problem behavior in pets and leisure horses - the science that helps understand the causes, and ways to prevent or treat them.

Stress, poor socialization and inappropriate environment can lead to problems in dogs, cats and leisure horses. Behavioral problems can lead to the breakdown of the human-animal bond, with unwanted pets, and can also be an underlying factor in health problems. This symposium brings together leading experts researching and consulting on problems in dogs, cats, and horses, to help understand current thinking on the links between behavior and welfare and the science that helps veterinarians and behaviorists advise on prevention or treatment.

Presentations will be followed by a panel discussion. The Symposium will close with a reception after the panel discussion.

When: Monday 26 September, 2016, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm EDT
