Biography
I am a PhD candidate of the PhD program in Social Welfare of the Graduate Center of the city University of New York. My research for the PhD examines the human-horse relations through a study entitled: “TRF’s Second Chances program: effects on behaviors and emotions”. I am conducting this study in an equine-facilitated correctional vocational training program where inmates take care of horses and learn to be horse-groomers. My study is a multi-methods study that examines behavioral and emotional effects of the relationship with the horses. Prior to entering the PhD program, I’ve worked for 14 years as a LMSW specializing in equine facilitated psychotherapy. I am a Certified Equine Interaction Professional (CEIP)- Mental Health, and a certified clinical supervisor.
