Abstract

The unconditional love of dogs has saved many veterans from taking their own lives which is why Saving Grace K9's believes in partnering veterans with a rescue dog. For the Saving Grace K9's program, the dogs used are not breed specific and are trained in tandem with the veteran handler so they are able to bond during the basic training.  The dogs are trained to perform tasks such as reminding the veteran to take their medications or wake and comfort the veteran during nightmares as well as serve as a constant companion.  Each dog is trained specifically for each veterans needs.
