Abstract

PAWS/LA is dedicated to preserving the human-animal bond. To that end, we assist low-income seniors and people disabled with life threatening illnesses care for their companion animals by providing veterinary care, pet food and supplies, temporary foster homes, and volunteer services — all at no charge.
All services are provided on a case-by-case basis to enrolled clients as funds are available.

Basic Services
• Subsidized veterinary care
• Pet food & supply distribution
• Grooming assistance
• Temporary foster care
• Dog walking
• Litter box maintenance
• Animal transport

Programs
• P.A.D. (Program for Animal Guardians with Disabling Illness)
• P.A.C.E. (Preserving Animal Companionship for the Elderly)
• Housing Advocacy & Education
