Abstract

The human-animal bond has proven biological, psychological, and social effects – some that people recognize and some that people don’t. Knowing more about what your pet sees and feels within you can help you heal and be more healthy. It’s time to find out what your pet is telling you.

Leslie Stewart is a licensed professional counselor and an assistant professor of counseling at Idaho State University. Leslie has incorporated animal assisted therapy with a dog and a rabbit in mental health in college counseling and juvenile detention settings, as well as in clinical supervision and counselor education.
