Cognition, Enrichment and Collaboration

Description: This seminar will explore animal cognition and enrichment techniques. Special sessions include the value of research as enrichment and the importance of collaboration between researchers and animal caretakers. The seminar includes lectures and research demonstrations. There will be invited national and international speakers as well as limited slots for participant’s presentations. Some of the research talks featured in this seminar are Fairness in Primates, Cognitive Research in Pandas, Self-Control in Primates, and Object Permanence in dolphins and sea lions. There will also be sessions on enrichment and training. The importance of collaboration between trainers and researchers as well as among facilities will also be highlighted. A limited number of presentation slots are available for student presentations.
