Hospice Business Management Track
Back by popular demand, this fantastic track will be offered on Thursday, October 1st. Cost is $160 and includes lunch. Come learn how to improve record keeping, staff communication, market to the community, team builiding, and so much more. This day will help bring your existing business to new heights or lay the foundation for a new hospice service. It's a must-have for anyone running their own business!!
Pet Loss Support Track
We are so excited this year to offer a full day track on pet loss support, presented by Coleen Ellis, a pioneer in bereavement training for pet care professionals. This track will be offered Thursday, October 1st. Cost is $160 and includes lunch. Improve your support skills and those of your staff by attending this amazing pre-conference session. It's another must-have for anyone in the field.
Euthanasia Technique Laboratory
Following in tradition, Dr. Cooney has organized two hours of euthanasia technique learning. Using small animal cadavers, Sunday's hands-on lab will demonstrate common techniques as well as some that may be new to you, such as intrarenal injections in cats and small mammals. This is a great opportunity to refresh your anatomy knowledge, discuss sedation protocols, paw print making, and of course, share ideas with fellow veterinarians and team members. Participation is limited to 30. Cost is $50. Lab is held Sunday, Oct. 4th from 1-3 pm.
Sunday afternoon Field Trip
On Sunday afternoon, October 4th, we have been invited to tour a local hospice business called Into the Sunset Pet Transition Center, located just outside San Diego. This tour, held from 1-4pm will be begin from the conference hotel lobby. A bus will take you and others to and from Into the Sunset and snacks will be provided. Come and see one of the most unique pet hospice facilities in the world.
Animal Hospice Certification Task Force Seminar
Those IAAHPC task force members involved with the development of the future certification program are invited to join in this working seminar. Held on October 1st from 2-8:30pm, task force members will break into working groups to further define/develop the program and network with colleagues. This seminar is not mandatory for task force members, but participation is strongly encouraged.
