The United States Department of Defense is making over $100 million available for research to improve the diagnosis and treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and traumatic brain injuries (TBI) and is currently seeking proposals for such projects. Given the recent promise shown by various animal-assisted therapies in ameliorating the effects of PTSD, this could be an excellent chance to further explore the efficacy of such treatment options. Additional information about the grant is available on grants.gov. The pre-proposal deadline is October 25.
