Veterans Affairs Department Study on PTSD Service Dogs

    The Veterans Affairs Department will be resuming its study on the effectiveness of service dogs assistance to veterans suffering from PTSD. Currently the VA provides support and veterinary care for service dogs used for physical disabilities, but has yet to cover service dogs that are used to aid those with mental health disorders. The study is aiming to provide scientific evidence that proves service dogs are indeed an effective method of treatment for veterans suffering from PTSD.
