    [[Span(Dr. Stuart Pope is a psychiatric/mental health nurse who directs clinical experiences for nursing students with children, adult, and older adult populations with mental health, dementia, and cognitive disorders. , style=line-height: 115%; font-family: )]]He holds a certification in geriatric nursing and two animal-assisted therapy organizations.[[Span( , style=mso-spacerun: yes;)]]His classroom teaching also centers on psychiatric/mental disorders for adult and geriatric populations in community and acute care facilities. The project will promote the research interest of Dr. Pope in the area of animal-assisted therapy, specifically its efficacy and efficiency in geriatric populations with cognitive disorders.
