City of Mesquite holds public hearing on possible changes to animal tethering ordinance

The city of Mesquite held a public hearing on Mesquite’s animal tethering ordinance on March 22 to present residents with two options city staff presented to city council and to gather public input.

“There has been some scientific study from the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) that shows that there’s a higher likelihood of more aggressive behavior from animals that are tethered on a frequent basis,” Rivas said.
