American Airlines Announces Changes to Emotional Support Animal Policy
American Airlines has adopted a new policy for emotional support animals on their flights. The policy formally states that a variety of animals, including goats, ferrets, reptiles, sugar gliders, and farm poultry will no longer be recognized as as ESAs on flights. The policy also requires passengers to fill out a form 48 hours in advance of the flight to provide information necessary to verify the need for the ESA if a passenger plans to travel with one.
