Ancient genome analyses reveal mosaic pattern of goat domestication thousands of years ago

A team of scientists led by geneticists from Trinity College Dublin studied the genomes from goat bones found in the Fertile Crescent. Goats were domesticated around 8500 BC and the genome shows that farmers were selecting specific traits in the animals as early as 8000 years ago.
