Abstract

Raising your North Star is about how North Star dogs are socialized to become valuable search and rescue tools for children who wander, along with how these skills can be specifically shaped in an autism assistance dog in training through the avenue of play. This video also contains thoughts for how to communicate with a child on the spectrum using visuals and other alternate methods of communication.
