The MSU College of Nursing developed the Human-Animal Bond Initiative, a program which strives to better understand the interactions between humans and animals, to assess how animals enrich people's lives, and to improve the quality of life for both humans and the animals. "We're specifically interested in scientifically validating the importance of the interaction between humans and animals," explained Lana Kaiser, a professor in the College of Nursing and the College of Human Medicine who spearheaded the program.
