Abstract

Therapy Dogs of Johnson County, or TDJC provide Delta Society (now called Pet Partners) services in the communities of Iowa City, Coralville, Hills, West Branch, North Liberty and the surrounding Iowa City area. We are an 501(c)(3) nonprofit association

We are a volunteer therapy dog group comprised of Delta Society registered Pet Partner teams. Our purpose is to bring the benefits of the human-animal bond to members of our community via animal-assisted therapy and/or animal-assisted activities.

TDJC's R.E.A.D. (Reading Education Assistance Dogs)
This is a literacy program where therapy dogs are used to promote literacy with children and teens. This program is represented in the Iowa City and Coralville Public Libraries and the Iowa City Independent School district.

TDJC also provides services to many surrounding nursing home and care facilities, the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, the Homeless Shelter , Hospice, and Domestic Violence and other places that require our assistance.
