Abstract

Psych Central features some information about the psychological benefits associated with animal-assisted therapy.  Animals have proven to be quite helpful as an adjunct to a therapeutic process.  Animal-assisted therapy helps individuals develop motor skills, communication skills, and social skills.  The presence of animals is soothing and helps to put patients at ease.
