Dr. Marguerite O'Haire discusses a systematic review of studies covering human-animal interactions and animal-assisted interventions in children with autism spectrum disorders and her own study covering children, including some with autism spectrum disorders, and human-animal interactions. Children in her study were exposed to either animals or engaging toys in sessions to evaluate changes to social behaviors and how they felt.
