Abstract

A study was conducted to determine the knowledge level of responsible animal ownership in Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil [date not given]. It was shown that only 24% of respondents knew what constituted responsible pet ownership and care. Some of those who gave examples of proper pet care such as providing adequate food, water, shelter and veterinary care did not even practice these themselves.
