Abstract

Camp Able is an equine therapy and horse rescue nonprofit organization, formed in February 2014 and designated a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization in September 2014.

Camp Able was founded by Renee Hicks, who is a PATH International Registered Therapeutic Riding Instructor and a Certified Equine Therapist in Mental Health and Learning. Ms. Hicks has leveraged her 40-year career as physical education teacher, coach and riding instructor to create Camp Able based on her passion for horses and desire to help people.

Camp Able is located 10 miles south of Abilene, Texas. We have identified that most equine therapy facilities in Texas are near the major metropolitan areas (Houston, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Austin, San Antonio), but few exist in the 100-mile radius around our ranch. We seek to serve the equine therapy needs of our 400,000 neighbors in The Big Country, including our service men and women at Dyess Air Force base.
