Abstract

“What is equine-assisted psychotherapy? Do horses need therapy? Or is it people?” Liz Letson takes the TEDxBemidji stage to talk about equine-assisted psychotherapy and the healing power of animals. Owner/CEO of Eagle Vista Ranch & Wellness Center Liz Letson’s mission is to transform lives through the healing power of nature and horses by creating a space for people of all ages to build hope, trust, and purpose. She is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) specializing in Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy and has coauthored the "Human-Animal Interaction Scale," a mental health assessment tool that adds to the evidence-based research in the field of Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy.
