El presente estudio trata sobre la incorporación de Intervenciones Asistidas por Animales (IAA) en el plan de actuaciones de una orientadora educativa. Se llevaron a cabo intervenciones asistidas por un perro debidamente seleccionado y entrenado. Se trabajó con alumnado de entre 3 y 12 años. Dichas intervenciones se organizaron en tres ámbitos: la evaluación psicopedagógica, la intervención psicopedagógica y la salud emocional. Los resultados indicaron que las IAA no solo favorecen la salud mental de los alumnos, sino también contribuyen a mejorar la calidad de las actuaciones de la orientadora y a obtener mejores resultados en una menor cantidad de tiempo.
This study explores the use of Animal Assisted Interventions (AAI) in the working plan of an educational psychologist. These interventions were assisted by a dog appropriately selected and trained. The target population comprised students from 3 to 12 years old. These interventions were organized around three scopes: the psychoeducational assessment, the psychoeducational intervention and the emotional health. The results indicated that the AAI, not only benefits the students’ mental health, but also it contributes to enhancing the quality of the educational psychologist’s work, as well as to obtaining better results in shorter time frames.
